Artist’s Comments:

“Like many collections, the Gray-dient collection appeared precociously in my mind from its inception. It was from there that I needed to unpack its meaning and explore the inspiration in bringing this collection into the world. Gray is the ultimate neutral. It is the perfect balance of my favorite color combination: black and white. That pair is contrast at its finest. Gray is its subtle relative and I find that I have quite the habit of favoring the incorporation of gray into many of my pieces. “lex talionis” is an early example of this, as it is my “rainbow of grays” as I like to call it. It makes sharp colors softer. However, recently, I have a growing appreciation of bold colors. This gray-dient collection allows me to gently transition into this bold color phase. This is happening in the design world right now too, I noticed. Muted neutrals and grays are starting to swing more vibrant and bolder. I guess I’ll come along on my own terms.”
