“This piece is just full of LIFE and VIBRANCE. It is inspired by the concept of a sapphire as if under a microscope. It’s fascinating how one gem composed of consistent material, combined with light can deliver a variety of colors. This sensory-gated perspective is a ‘hat tip’ to our susceptibility to sensory overload. It is seeing our environment as if through a microscope - so much information. Ironically, seeing this sapphire as if through a microscope is what allows me to filter it into a sensory-gated painting.”
